The guy in the luggage rack
A devised show about grief, with clown and aerial circus - currently in development
by She Said Jump (AD Maisie Whitehead)
The Guy In The Luggage Rack is an aerial theatre show about grief, memory and relationship. This narrative show combines physical comedy with striking aerial acrobatics and is the debut live show from She Said Jump.
The piece is set around a purpose built aerial ʻluggage rackʼ that moves and transforms to carry the performers through a story that is based on first hand interviews and personal experiences. Drawing on theatre clown, circus and puppetry, this accessible show tackles the themes of grief and bereavement with a light and playful touch.
The Guy in the Luggage Rack tours with its own freestanding aerial rig and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings. The show is available for outdoor bookings from July-October 2022, and for theatres from September-November. To find out more follow us on Instagram or head over to the She Said Jump website.
Devised and performed by Maisie Whitehead & Malik Ibheis from an original idea by Maisie Whitehead, additional creative input from Lizzie Muncey and Poppy Rowley; mentored by Angela de Castro, Fevered Sleep and Ockham’s Razor.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
